about superior dough
From guest checks to greatness
Superior Dough started as formulas scribbled on the backs of restaurant guest checks. For seven years, its founder implemented restaurant technology — the point-of-sale systems built by Toast — across more than five hundred restaurants, which mostly meant standing around in other people's kitchens. A long run of pizza places turned a home-baking habit into something closer to an obsession. Badly, at first. Then the math started to click, and a good loaf became something he could repeat instead of mourn. The pizza ended up in the Philadelphia Inquirer, twice, and among the region's best new pies.
So he built the tool he wished he'd had back then. Superior Dough is a baker's platform for everyone between their first loaf and their best one: the measurements worked out for you, timers that follow the bake, a starter that stays alive, 139 flours with the details that matter, and a feed where the recipe travels with every photo. Baker Chat looks at your actual bake and answers in plain language — a baker in your pocket, never a chatbot in a trench coat.
The gear carries the same idea. Organic cotton, cut heavy, embroidered plain, made to be worn in the kitchen and everywhere after it. No loud logos. Just the wordmark, and the work.
From a home counter to a busy bakery, it's built for anyone who takes the craft seriously — whether they're keeping a first starter alive or scaling up for an opening. One baker in Philadelphia made it. He also has to clean the kitchen.
Good dough, good day.
